Description
Buitenverwachting Rose (Blanc de Noir) 750ml.
A pale dry Constantia Blanc de Noir-style rose.
Buitenverwachting is a historic Constantia wine estate dating back to 1796, sitting at the foot of the Constantiaberg in Cape Town's coolest, most maritime-influenced wine region. The name means "beyond expectation" in Dutch — a fitting flag for a farm with one of the strongest white-wine reputations in the Cape.
The Buitenverwachting Rose is a Blanc de Noir-style pink — a wine made from red grapes that are pressed early to extract only the lightest pink colour, leaving you with what is essentially a "white wine from black grapes". The result is a pale, crisp, dry pink that sits closer to a white wine in style than to many heavier Cape roses.
Tasting Note: Pale salmon-pink in the glass. The nose offers fresh strawberry, raspberry, watermelon, soft citrus and a whisper of crushed herbs. The palate is dry and crisp, with red-berry fruit, gentle citrus, balanced cool-climate acidity and a clean, refreshing finish.
ABV: typically 12.5%.
Region: Constantia, Cape Town, South Africa.
Food Pairing: A versatile food rose — grilled chicken, prawns, salade niçoise, charcuterie boards, sushi, fresh goat's cheese, or a Cape Malay curry.
Serving Suggestion: Serve well chilled (8–10°C) in a white-wine glass.
Whether you're a rose drinker, exploring Constantia, or looking for a serious dry pink for the table, Buitenverwachting Rose 750ml delivers cool-climate Blanc de Noir character.
