Groote Post is a family-owned wine estate in the cool-coastal Darling region of the Western Cape, owned and farmed by the Pentz family for generations. Sitting on the Darling hills with the Atlantic just over the ridge, the estate benefits from cool sea breezes and a long, slow ripening season — exactly the conditions that produce focused, mineral-driven Cape whites.
The Seasalter Sauvignon Blanc is the estate's cool-coastal expression of the variety, named after the salt-tinged maritime breezes that shape its character. Hand-harvested in the cool early morning hours and gently pressed to preserve aromatics, the wine is fermented in stainless steel to keep its bright, focused, lifted profile.
Tasting Note:
Nose: Cut grass, gooseberry, granadilla, white grapefruit, fresh fig leaf and a soft saline note.
Palate: Crisp and refreshing, with citrus, green pear and tropical fruit balanced by a clean, mineral acidity and a touch of saline freshness from the maritime influence.
Finish: Long, dry and gently herbaceous, with a lingering saline-mineral edge.
